- Mohammed Jâzim, historian
He published together with Christian Robin the book Le pèlerin des forteresses du savoir (the pilgrimage of the fortresses of knowledge) in 2006, in tribute to qâdî Isma'îl al-Akwa'. Is currently completing an edition of the manuscript “ Livre des revenus” , an important medieval book on tax levy as well as al “ Fâsil bayn al Haqq wal Bâtil fi mafâkhir Qahtân”. He participates in the editing of all publications of the CEFAS in Arabic.
- Mounir Arbach, an epigraphist, member of the LESA (CNRS, Collège de France) is an associate researcher in the CEFAS.
Has completed two important books in 2006: Yémen. Cités d'écriture and Catalogue des pièces archéologiques et épigraphiques du Jawf au Musée National de Sanaa , which contribute to make archeology in Southern Arabia more accessible to the general public. Contributes to the publications of the Center such as The unification of the ancient Yemen , by A. BâFaqîh (translation into Arabic), Raydan 8. Participates to the UNESCO project for the preservation of the archeological sites of Jawf.
2/ Associated researchers :
- Rémy Audouin, expert for the UNESCO, coordinates the project for conservation of archeological objects from al-Jawf and prepares the protection of the archeological site As-Sawdâ' (Jawf).
- Lamya Khalidi, specialist of prehistoric times and the Bronze Age and post-doc in CNRS Valbonne collaborates regularly with the CEFAS and participates in several excavations.
- Samir Mokrani, scientific coordinator of the project for the preservation of Sanaa Songs, UNESCO, contributes to publications about Yemenite music.
- Laurent Bonnefoy , defended his PhD thesis in political science about transnational religious networks in 2007. In 2008 he will be associated to CEFAS as a post-doc for a project of the French national research agency (ANR) "From the Gulf to Europe , violence and counter-violence)"
- Christian Darles , assistant professor in Toulouse School of Architecture, currently writing his habilitation thesis on the archeological site of Shabwa.
- Mohammed Sbitli, specialist in modern history, studies the social class of the qâdî during the Qasimite period and prepares the edition of the book T he Imam's administrative correspondences.
3/ Regular contributors :
- Eric Vallet, an assistant professor in islamic history in the Sorbonne-Paris 1, he now coordinates the French German project for the preservation of manuscripts.
- Anne Regourd ( Louvre Museum ) coordinates the project of preservation of the manuscripts of Zabid.

- Pascal Menoret, As a CEFAS grant holder he is writing his doctoral thesis about political socialization of youth in Saudi Arabia ; His integration into the King Faysal Center in Riyadh during three years has allowed reinforcing the partnership with this institution.

- Claire Beaugrand, CEFAS grant holder, in her third year of PhD thesis in London School of Economics conducts a field study in Kuwait and Bahrain about the concept of nationality and being apatride. Being integrated in the University of Kuwait in the faculty of social sciences she is an important link with this institution.
- Julien Charbonnier, CEFAS grant holder in his fourth year of PhD thesis (Sorbonne, Paris 1) he works on the irrigation system in the ancient Yemen and Oman and he participates in excavations in both countries.
- Maggy Grabundzija, PhD student at the EHESS (Paris), former Lavoisier grant holder is writing her thesis. She has played a major role in the organization of the discussion forum about the civil society (Sanaa, July 2006).

- Ludmila du Bouchet, PhD student in her fourth year of political sciences in Cambridge , is writing her dissertation about the construction of the Yemenite State .
- Julien Dufour, a former CEFAS grant holder, in his fifth year of Phd. He is going to defend his thesis about the homaynî poetry, at the end of the year 2007.
- Vincent Martignon, writing his PhD thesis in geography about internal migrations in Yemen he is currently composing his thesis in France.
- Vincent Planel, in his third year of doctorate in anthropology at the University de Provence and at the EHESS, he continues his field study on youth and rural immigration in Taez.
- Roman Stadnicki, a PhD student in Geography at the university of Tours has completed in 2006 a long research about Sanaa's urban development, he is now write his thesis.
